Inspired by the Iowa versus Iowa State football game in 1977 which was originally published in the Daily Iowan newspaper and immediately began to appear virally all over Iowa City including as a painting on the window of Joe's bar, the mascots series celebrates mascots at colleges around the country and hopes to provide people a fun way of showing off their school pride.
